Preparing for the future involves qualifications but much more besides:

  • Workplace practices in education- incl. embedded maths,English and STEM
  • Future industry needs are understood- even if they change career pathway
  • Creative & critical thinking and independence are well-developed

Meaningful work experience- shadowing a CEO rather than being in a junior office for a week

Employers setting briefs/ coming in and giving lectures/talks

She spoke about what we’re trying to achieve. More of our vocational staff’s CPD needs to be going into workplaces and setting up these relationships with employers. If each member of staff even got just one link fully established in an academic year, how much richer would our learners’ experience be?
